ON-GRID SOLAR SYSTEM

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES ON-GRID SOLAR SYSTEM

An on-grid solar system, also known as a grid-tied solar system, is the most widely deployed form of rooftop solar across the world. These systems do not need any batteries and are connected to the utility grid power.

Meter is a device that records the energy supplied to the grid and the energy drawn from it. At the

end of each month, the net energy consumed is recorded and the consumer is provided with a bill. This feature makes the on-grid solar system a great investment. The elimination of batteries in the on-grid system makes the maintenance quite easy. It also

eliminates the cost of upkeep of the batteries

On-grid solar system is completely dependent from the Grid.

If there is no power in the grid, you will not be able to use Solar power generation.

If you install a fully on-grid system you have to wait for TNEB approvals, and will have limitations on your system.

Net meter is not available for commercial users and the power tariff purchase price is Rs.3.61/unit.

No subsidy for commercial tariff users.

SOLAR 6 TO 6

You can install a off-grid solar system and can operate all the Energy consumption through solar energy from 6am to 6pm. With limited battery backup you can save on initial investment. You don't have no wait period for government approvals. You can go in for larger capacities of solar panels with no Limitations and you can save on energy bills. You can't zero electricity consumption bills, but return of Investment will be shorter period.

6.Income tax benefits for Solar installation Projects

40% depreciation on solar

When the investment is made in a Solar Plant, the user is allowed to depreciate the asset at 40%, thereby allowing the user to completely depreciate the asset within three years term, and saving a tax.
